From The Ground Up
Why use Public Highway for your project?
We are fully independent highways and transport planning consultants providing services to architects, planning consultants, homeowners, landowners, developers and communities across England & Wales. With almost 30 years experience in Local Authority Highways and associated fields, we have an overview that encompasses all aspects of development. Enabling us to advise and help our clients right from the stage of choosing a plot, through to completion and beyond.
We pride ourselves on a relationship with our clients built from providing a pragmatic approach to a wide range of issues, allowing our clients to focus on their business.
Communication is the key to a good relationship throughout the process and we take care to ensure we are the last bastion of truth to our clients. It is far more important we tell our clients what they need to know, rather than what they want to hear.
For example, a developer came to us wondering why his planning application had been refused, when he had spent so much time and money trying to get it right first time. We quickly discovered that his planning consultant had decided to prepare the transport report himself to save time; telling the client how simple it would be...
We pointed out to the client his consultant had overlooked the public right of way that traversed part of the site and had failed to mention the proximity to a local special needs school that meant tightly restricted hours for site vehicle operations. We prepared a report which addressed the right of way issue by adjusting the parking layout and provided a properly prepared management plan for the construction traffic. This routed vehicles away from the school and helped reduce vehicle noise and emissions. The client received full planning permission on his next submission.
As a valued client, your success is our reputation.
